The training focuses on professional immersion and project work, in order to develop students' practical skills, autonomy, and initiative. During the second year (LP2), students are engaged in an apprenticeship for 8 months in a laboratory or company. The apprenticeship contracts take place in various sectors (agri-food, health, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, environment, decontamination, instrumentation, reagents, ...) and involve various functions (research, research and development, quality, production...). The sectors of pharmaceuticals and health, as well as fundamental and research and development functions, are the most represented. This professional experience prepares them for the role of technician in biotechnology, strengthens their professional project, and facilitates their progression to LP3 and their professional integration. At the same time, students are involved in two types of projects at the university:
• The tutored project, carried out in groups, aims to develop transferable skills such as project management, scientific communication, literature research, and collaborative work. It is supervised by teachers and involves choosing and studying a current topic in Biotechnology.
• The free project allows students to explore an innovative theme through an experimental approach. This project, using 3D printing, provides them with the opportunity to design, model, and create a technical object, while leveraging their skills in biology, technology, and creativity. These initiatives promote active learning, directly linked to the expectations of the professional world, and contribute to the development of a versatile, autonomous, and operational profile.
The Professional Bachelor's Degree prepares students for careers as senior laboratory technicians and assistant engineers in the dynamic biotechnology sectors: health, pharmaceuticals, agri-food, and environment. The goal? Rapid and successful entry into the workforce, thanks to practical, targeted training in line with the needs of companies and laboratories in the sector.
Students with a clear career plan can also consider continuing their studies in a Master's program or engineering school.
In their second year (LP2), students become apprentices. They strengthen a solid foundation of knowledge in biology/biotechnology while developing their professional skills at university and in the laboratory as part of their apprenticeship contract. Each student receives personalized support, promoting their success.
Informations
Objectives
The objective is to train students for the professions of assistant engineer and senior laboratory technician, in different sectors of biology. To fulfill their missions, graduates must have acquired solid knowledge in the fundamental disciplines of biology. In addition, cross-disciplinary courses must allow them to integrate the world of work in the best conditions. In continuity with the first year of the Professional Bachelor’s degree, in LP2, students will follow courses in fundamental and applied biology, bio-production and quality control, supplemented by courses in chemistry applied to biology in order to acquire a solid training for the third year (LP3). The cross-disciplinary courses (english, scientific methodology, statistics, oral and written communications, knowledge of business and bio-industries) will give the student the opportunity to build and refine their personal and professional project (PPP). The long apprenticeship period (8 months) will also allow the student to acquire professional experience and skills which will facilitate their continuation in LP3 and their professional integration.

Target Audience and Entry Requirements
